My Sidewalk Chalk Experience
My overall experience was pretty good. I was happy with my group and how are drawing turned out. But the process was pretty interesting. It takes a lot of steps to get where we did in the end. And thats what this blog is about. How I got from step one to a final project.
The first step to every great project is to sketch out and to get some ideas going. You have to have a lot of ideas because you never are going to use the first idea. Honestly it was pretty hard to come up with some ideas that all of us could relate too. Since it was so hard everyone in my group took a corner of the paper and started drawing symbols that represented them. After that we all found things that either most of us had in common or all of us had in common. After a day went by we finally came up with an idea for are symbols. We decided to make it look like a blue print. The blue print represented E-comm, we all are in e-comm for some reason. The main piece of our symbol was the cross. We all were of the same region so it was important to us. We also made it look like a pencil was sitting on our blue print as well as a ruler.
Once we got outside thats when we decided are color schemes. We weren't really sure what colors they would have so thats why we waited until they gave us our chalk. Then we decided to make the outline of our blueprint white because we always see blueprints that have a white tint to them. After we did the outline of are blueprint we started drawing the cross and we made it look like a woody color since the cross is made out of wood. The two guys in our group decided to draw there symbols that represented them. They didn't really ask, they just did it. We had another idea that we were going to do but the guys symbols got in the way. I thought it was fine though since church and music are a big part of my life.
Some things I would make different are making sure we all are on the same page. Like I stated above there were some things that we did not communicate well. Other than that I thought my group worked well.
