Logo Design Project

Process

This process was long and very complex. A lot of people don't know how many steps and how long it takes to make a logo. Lets talk about the process.

First Step

The first thing you have to do is sketch out your logo's. Always making different versions of others. Constantly coming up with new ideas. After we did that for about 4 days, we showed Mr. Olson are top 3 sketches. He told us why he did or didn't like each one. Some of them were to complicated and others were to simple. This was the hardest part for me because you have to make something, but at the same time it can't look like anything already out there.

(I had about 3 pages a sketches)

Second Step

Finally, we took it illustrator. Doing the same thing as the sketches just on the computer. You might of created your logo that you had on your paper, but you still make different versions of it. Seeing what looks good and what doesn't. (For me I didn't have a lot of these because I was mainly satisfied with what I created. I knew if I added more it would look to complicated). When we were making the logos on the computer we did them in black and white, so you wouldn't get caught up in color right away.

Third Step

After you have a logo that you like, you make different color variations of it. We had to make a lot of these so you can see what you do and don't like. Also so you can see what looks a little dated. In total I had 8 different versions. As well as color you also kinda play with fonts showing how different a logo can look just by a font.

Final Step

You chose your logo that you like the best. You chose it off of which one represents you. Which color shows you (etc...).
I chose this logo because you are always on a ride and you never know whats going to happen next. This is a ship a windward your looking out of it seeing the water and my name. I wanted to be something tropical, dealing with water or a bird. Just really anything tropical. I originally had a brown and darker colors, but I remembered that it wouldn't show up very well. Also wouldn't be appealing to the eye.

The color red represents me because its a little fiery. It looks innocent at first, but once you see what it actually is its not something you expected. People always say that I'm really quite. Once you get to know me I'm a big ball of fire or energy.
